Now that Michelle lives in Los Angeles, we unfortunately don’t get to indulge in our weekly Thursday wine nights. Our friendship now consists with a lot of texting, face time and emails… not the same as it used to be, but we make it work.
The upside is that when one of us comes to visit, it’s a jam pack reunion filled with photo shoots, meetings, events and of course wine nights! This go around Sarah flew out to LA for an event we were invited to and we made sure to get some catch up time in between the craziness with some cake decorating and pool lounging.
Cake decorating? I know right, but it was so much fun! Duff’s Cakemix is the first do-it-yourself decorating studio using Chef Duff’s world famous cakes and cupcakes. We got to be the artists and create our masterpiece which of course consisted of hashtags and wineglasses, but what did you expect? They supply you with everything you could think of to use to create your one of a kind design. Perfect for group parties or even a switch up to your usual date nights. We look forward to decorating many more cakes and cupcakes in the future here and yes it tastes even more delicious than it looks. We made sure to test it out for you!
An LA trip wouldn’t be complete with out some time in the sun. Sarah stayed at The Grafton on Sunset which had a lively, upbeat atmosphere with cool, artsy decor. We made some delicious cocktails and headed down to the pool to relax, unwind and work on our tans after our jam packed work days. Cocktails were enjoyed, we were able to catch up and get a little color all the while. We got a ton done during our short time together but even so it didn’t feel like enough. Leaving each other is never easy but it gives us time to work on planning the next reunion.
We made the Perfect Peach Cocktail for Fall to celebrate the new season and cheers to being reunited again! If you missed the recipe, click the link above. Easy to make and quite delicious!
Until our next reunion, cheers.
