Started from the bottom literally … two hours later we made it to the top. It was a long, winding journey throughout Yosemite but 100% worth it, with the unforgettable views of Yosemite Falls, Half Dome and the breath taking Glacier Point. Yosemite is a destination that reminds you how beautiful Earth truely is and all the glory of mother nature, from the skyscraper trees to the jaw dropping cliffs.
Next trip, we will attempt to do more hiking and dare I say some camping? To be determined. We were on a tight schedule and took the comfortable route, taking in the view with the car seat warmers on. It was a warm 70 degrees before we left, but temperatures dropped drastically to 42 degrees at the top. We stopped off at the look out locations while trucking to the top, witnessing everything from forest fires to hail and snow.
After 9 hours of driving, parking, exploring, repeat. … we caped off our journey at The Ahwanhee Hotel. My aunt and uncle suggested to check out the location where they had designed and installed the lighting (Phoenix Day Lighting) in this remarkable four-diamond hotel. We relaxed by the fire with a warm bowl of chile, with no cell service which made for great conversation. If you make your way to Yosemite and don’t stay at this hotel, I seriously suggest to stop by and take in the magnificent façade and architecture with loads of history.
Fun story, my Oma and Opa met at the top of Half Dome after separately hiking all the way up. Talk about destiny. Yosemite will always have a special place in my heart for bringing my family together.
Wearing- Jacket: Lulu Lemon; Tank: GTS Clothing; Leggings: GTS Clothing; Vest: Canada Goose
These GTS apex leggings are by far my favorite and they come in 3 other colors. Not only are they stylish but they held up the entire day, keeping me warm and most importantly comfortable the entire trip.
It was definitely one for the books and another check off our California bucket list. With so many attractions here in California, you want to explore everything!
