2016 was a great year, one of the best yet, but I am especially excited about what 2017 holds. This past year brought many amazing business opportunities my way but also came with some struggles too. I think highs and lows are an integral part of becoming successful but it’s those lows that you learn and gain the most from.
In 2016 I learned a lot about myself and my business and although I know I had accomplished so much, I still felt like something was missing. It was around the same time that I really began to focus on my fitness goals with Crossfit. I was craving something new, a challenge I hadn’t experienced before and Crossfit helped was just the thing I needed at the time. I wasn’t only seeing results with my figure but it inspired me to take what I had learned and loved so much about fitness and bring it to the blog. And since I was spending 90% of my week in fitness gear, I felt like I had the fitness style portion in the bag. Fitness felt so effortless and natural to write about and what felt like was that missing piece to my puzzle. I have had the amazing opportunity to work with dozens of top fitness brands (including Lululemon, Lucy Activewear, Reebok), helped a start up fitness brand find their social identity, and even helped my own gym with their social media.
Since I followed my heart and made fitness my main focus, many doors have opened for me. I have had the amazing opportunity to work with dozens of top fitness brands (including Lululemon, Lucy Activewear, Reebok, Alala, Chelsea Collective, etc), helped a few start up fitness brands find their social identity, and even helped my own gym with their social media. Most importantly, all of this led me to landing my dream gig at Strong Fitness Magazine as their new Style and Beauty Editor.
Working for a magazine has always been a dream of mine but I thought at this point in my life and my career that it would be near impossible to work my way into the industry. I guess that just goes to show that when you find your passion and work hard to chase after it, that anything can happen. Now, I couldn’t be happier working for such an amazing publication that empowers women to believe that being STRONG is BEAUTIFUL! Along with featuring some of the most beautiful and strong women in fitness, Strong also is on a mission to motivate, educate, empower women to achieve fit and healthy lives.
