These Bags Are Not Designer … the real mom life.
I have to be honest, I have never been too in to self care, health and wellness until lil’ miss Adaline came about. Grey hair, baggy eyes, dark circles and dried skin have never really been a concern until welllllll … love you baby A, but right about the time she arrived.
Working a full time job while still coming home and taking care of her for 4-6 hours each week day has brought about more dark circles and fine lines than I could ever imagine. Im not sure what sleeping in till 6am is like. Who knows if I ever will see that again. Maybe when she’s a teen? Only one can hope. All I know is that my baggy eyes don’t lie, and girl … these bags sure as hell are not designer. “MOMLIFE” is stamped on my forhead for all to be seen, and it’s time to take action.
The past month I have really made the EFFORT to put a little more thought in to myself. It has been baby, baby, baby for a year and I have lost track on my own self care. Now that she is about to be one, and I have a better grip on life and it’s time to get a better grip on care. I wanted to share my mommy tips and product must haves that I have been using for the past month and have already seen a significant impact on both my appearance, energy and overall happiness.
1. Morning Routine: I start my morning off with 2 tbs. of apple cider vinegar, a cup of hot water and squeezed lemon and a cup of turmeric and ginger tea. Apple cider vinegar has so many benefits that I won’t list them all but the ones I care about are A. Supports weight loss B. Aids detoxification C. Supports mood and energy D. Balances Skin. E. Fights the common cold and is anti-bacterial. The last one is HUGE for us moms. I don’t have time to get sick. The lemon water simply helps wake my body up naturally and the Turmeric Ginger tea is for digestion. A LOT of liquids, I know. AND don’t forget to drink 80 oz of water each day before 5pm.
2. Skin Regime: I’m obsessed with the Caudalie anti aging products. My skin not only smells beautiful but I have noticed a difference in just a month with this new morning and night skin routine. My skin feels tighter and those circles are gradually going away. I have also been trying out the NEWA to help with wrinkle reduction and tightening the skin and jaw line. It’s just an easy to use, at home aging beauty device.
3. Masks: I love face and eye masks. It’s my weekend un wind with a glass of wine thing. I honestly look forward to it and is a great excuse to get in a few chapters on the latest book I’m reading. My current go to mask is by Shiseido but open to suggestions and trying new ones, so please send ideas!
