I live a pretty active lifestyle. I’m in my Crossfit gym at least 6 days per week and try to fit in yoga and barre classes when I can to diversify my training program. Some people might think that is excessive but to me getting sweaty and challenging myself is my happy place. I’m able to turn off my phone, let go, focus on my goals, release all the stress in my life and get in the zone.
I look forward to my gym sessions each day and just because I know I’m going to get sweaty doesn’t mean I am ok with sacrificing my style. After all I am still fashion obsessed. With so many emerging fitness brands popping up, there is no lack in fashion forward activewear to choose from but the question is, is it also functional? Answer is, there are brands out there making cheapo fitness gear that is best only for college kids to run around campus in, not to actually do work. I know the last thing I want when I’m deep in a front squat is for my leggings to stretch out to expose what color underwear I am wearing underneath. Not pretty..
Being a fashion/fitness blogger, I have been sent my fair share of fitness gear to try and review, which I LOVE, but my favorite part is spreading the word about brands the brands that fit well and hold up while getting in an intense work out. A small boutique activewear company out of Saratoga Springs NY, GTS (greater than sports) recently sent us some of their clothing to try, claiming that they could bridge the gap between fashion and fitness. As a skeptic, I put the outfit to the test in many different settings including Crossfit, barre, yoga, shopping and wine with the girls. To my surprise they held up in all situations. GTS gets it, they understand what people who lead an active lifestyle are looking for. We want clothing that fits well, doesn’t ride up or down and can be worn to the grocery store or to run errands after and not look like a complete slob. They design their clothing for athletes but know that people are sick of boring activewear and with their edgy styles clearly they get it. So if you are bored with your old gym shorts and grungy tees, give them a rest and try taking a walk on the wild side. You might like your new activewear so much that you might even find yourself going to they gym even more!

November 18, 2015 at 8:15 amOne thing I love about fitness wear is the sleek clean look it always maintains. I’m huge on simplicity so this is right up my alley. I love the sharp clean look of the white jacket, that is a must have for my closet and the black sneakers looks awesome! I tend to wear simple gold jewelry so it’ll fit very well with these items 🙂
