DC is known for many things; politics, tourism, museums and the overwhelming amount of events and receptions that occur on a daily basis. Living and working in DC we partake in many of these activities but as we have gotten older, we tend to choose a bit more wisely on what we actually attend. When an invite was passed our way to the Walk This Way fashion show to help raise awareness and money for Becky’s Fund, it was a no brainer that we would attend. The event was held to help raise funds for their “Men of Code” program, which helps educate and coach young male athletes about domestic violence in efforts to help them end violence against women and girls through training and mentorship that builds healthy relationships and leadership skills.
The Walk This Way Fashion Show was held at the beautiful Italian Embassy where many famous athletes and celebrities walked the runway to raise over $200,000 for this amazing cause. We even saw some of our favorite Redskin’s players strut their stuff including Pierre Garçon, Kai Forbath, Chris Baker and Andre Roberts to name a few. Becky Lee, the beauty and brains behind Becky’s fund, packed the embassy full of 500 of DC’s finest movers and shakers which set the scene for a fabulous event. It was a glamorous night filled with champagne, dancing and FASHION (so you know we had a good time) and we were truly blessed to be able to help support such an important cause.
