I know we have all suffered from buyers remorse at one point or another on something ridiculously overpriced or something we really didn’t need. But I will tell you one thing, these items we are about to show you will not only leave you feeling great about your purchase but you will feel like you are contributing to something way bigger. We have rounded up some of the coolest items on the market that we think you will absolutely adore but also that will help many people around the world.
Also, The Giving Keys were kind enough to donate the necklace pictured below for us to give away to one lucky reader! Please read below for more details.
Giving Keys Never Ending Necklace: It all started with a New York hotel room key. Founder, actress/singer, Caitlin Crosby, wore the key as a necklace and had the idea to start engraving old, used keys with inspirational words. She encouraged people to wear these necklaces and then ‘pay it forward’ by giving someone the necklace who needs the message more. Caitlin started the company with a couple, that she met on the street, that were desperately in need of a home and work. They all worked together to create the jewelry behind the Giving Keys and now the company now has more then 10 employees that are trying to transition out of homelessness. Today, their products are carried in 200 stores and counting!!
One lucky reader will win the ‘Believe’ Never Ending Necklace ($55 value) pictured above, please enter to win at the bottom of this post and the winner will be announced on March 3rd, 2014. Please check back to see if you have won!
Fifty-Five Clothing’s Vintage Love Tank: 20% of your purchase from this company will be donated to a charity of your choice, you have the option to select the charity you are most passionate about when you are checking out. All of their tanks and tees are made in California from 100% combed cotton and printed with eco-friendly, water-based inks for an extra soft finish. We love these simple tanks and love even more that they let you pick the charity of your choice!
Swell Water Bottle Swell bottles are beautifully crafted and composed of non-toxic stainless steel, that keeps drinks cold for 24 hours and hot for 12, while giving back to those in need. S’well is a charitable community member and proud partner of charitable organizations such as WaterAid, American Forests, and Drink Up. We can speak from experience that these bottles are nothing short of amazing. They really do what they say, we found it pretty incredible that our coffee stayed hot for a whole day during the polar vortex.
Angela & Roi Vegan Handbags: Angela & Roi believes fashion can be utilized to both an artistic and charitable effect. The company presents an opportunity to intertwine consumerism with philanthropy. Their unique ‘Donate by Color’ movement allows you to donate and raise awareness to a cause by the color of handbag you purchase. The bag pictured will help to donate to improve the lives of children and adolescents with cancer with support services and care.
Toms: The company that started it all. Pretty much everyone knows the story behind the TOMS business model, One for One. For every pair of shoes or glasses they sell will help one person in need with either a pair of shoes or eye care. They have given shoes in more then 60 countries and helped with sight in more then 13 countries.
Jewelry For A Cause-The Caliber Collection: The oval shape of the cuff mimics the trigger cage of a gun and serves as a reminder of the destruction that is caused when the trigger of a gun is pulled. Each series carries a serial number that corresponds with one of the guns that were taken off the streets of Newark by the Police Department. The side of the cuff is hand hammered to symbolize the hard work required, not only of the police, but of each individual, in the fight to get illegal guns off the streets of their community. The company is already responsible for over $400,000 of philanthropy dollars donated to worthy causes.
Indego Africas Handmade Baskets: An artisan crafts each one of a kind basket by hand using needles and fine plant threads. The technique requires patience, precision and great skill to master. Like all Indego products, each basket comes with a signed hang tag that brings you closer to the artisan who crafted this work of art. This item helps create jobs for female artisans in Rwanda and invests 100% of its profits into training programs for these women.
FEED Function Bag: Just by purchasing this super hip bag you will provide 100 school meals to children in need. This bag is big enough to hold your laptop, iPad, notebooks and much more. Multi-tasking never felts so good (and looked so good too!). FEED Projects LLC was founded by Lauren Bush and Ellen Gustafson in 2007 to produce merchandise that would help feed hungry children all over the word. Today FEED has donated over $6 Million and over 60 Million meals.
Rescued Wine Candles: Supports animal rescue shelters and environmental preservation in Northern California. Rescued Wine Candles makes an impact on the planet and the animals inhabiting it by using sustainably sourced, recycled and biodegradable materials as well as donating profits to local animal rescue shelters. Wine and dogs? Two of our favorite things!
