Kate Bakes is a vegan and gluten-free granola bar company based out of Washington, DC. Every bar is handmade using only organic ingredients. Kate has truly mastered the art of making delicious yet healthy granola bars. Each of her creations are sweet and chewy bars that provide natural protein and fiber with no added preservatives.
We love to support local businesses and wanted to share our amazing experience of working these yummy bars into our daily routine. We found them to be a perfect pre-work out snack, a filling on the go breakfast and a very rewarding afternoon treat. Each bar contains 220 calories, 7 grams of protein and 4.5 grams of fiber.
Kate offers 4 different flavors; the Banana Cinnamon Oatmeal, Chocolate Coffee, Sunflower Butter Raisin and Cardamom Date. All were quite satisfying but our favorite was the Banana Cinnamon Oatmeal which was a combination of almond butter, banana, coconut, rolled oats, soy protein powder, and all organic – agave syrup, rice cereal, chia seeds, cinnamon and vanilla. Sounds good right? Even better paired with your favorite cup of coffee or tea.
You can find her bars sold in DC (Muse Cafe in the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Menu/MBK, GWU’s Campus Fresh and Cibo Express in Terminal A at Reagan National Airport), Virginia (South Block Juice Co and Society Fair) and Maryland (Sweet Simplici-Tea).
