In a fitness rut? Then it may be time to switch things up. I go through this every few months. I feel a little bored with my workouts so instead of falling off the wagon all together I love incorporating new workouts into my routine. I lift heavy 3 days a week, so in-between I like to do something different to diversify my regimen. My newest addiction is Lagree Dc. Think Solid Core or the hardest Pilates class you’ve ever taken and then multiply that by 10 and you have Lagree! But seriously it’s an ahhmazing full body lengthening/strengthening 50 min workout that will leave your body shaking so you know it worked! It’s no wonder celebs and models are obsessed with Lagree. The Lagree Method is a multi-faceted workout that combines resistance training and cardio into one comprehensive, balanced system to strengthen, tighten, and tone the body. Varying degrees of spring-based tension allow the Lagree Method to adjust to the user during use. This immediate adaptability creates a tailored experience that is unique to the student. Because of this, Lagree is the ideal method for all ages and fitness levels. The entire class is done on the megaformer. The class is […]

What Are Macros and Why Should We Count Them? “Macros? What the heck are they and why are people counting them?” That was my gut reaction when I caught wind of the macro trend. I have never been one to count calories or to follow any kind of diet for that matter. I mean why in the heck would I workout so hard if I can’t just eat what I want afterward? No longer could I just “wing it” when it came to my nutrition, especially when training as hard as I was. That is when I inquired about the macro craze, I did a little research on my own and then started asking questions to the friends I knew that were on a macro type diet. The things I read and heard were pretty similar, it was all about balance and making sure you hit your […]

Strange heading for a post I know. In all honesty, it’s something that I do a lot but I’ll get more into that later. What do you daydream about? I feel like I’m constantly living in a daydream and sometimes need to be pulled back to reality. It’s either about work, life goals, my next vacation, or even what I’m going to have for dinner. You name it, I have probably daydreamed about it. But recently it’s been about squatting and the reason is because I haven’t been able to do it in months. As some of you may know I tore my labrum in my hip a few months ago and have been struggling with what to do to fix it. The options were: do nothing and live with the pain, surgery to repair the tear or to try a new cutting edge injection called PRP. Knowing that I couldn’t live with the pain or having to cut back on being as active as I am, I went to a few doctors and got a few different opinions. After many doctors visits and about a month of weighing my options, I decided that I would rather try PRP before I […]
