Beyond The Runway: Miami Swim Week

We arrived in Miami early Thursday morning with great anticipation and a very packed schedule ahead of us. We wanted to take full advantage of our visit and take in all that Mercedez Benz Fashion Swim Week 2015 had to offer in the little time that we had. As soon as we unpacked our bags we were off to the Ford Artists Beauty Suite on the Venetian Lady yacht for makeup and hair styling hosted by the ladies behind the charity Style Saves. This was much appreciated after a rough, early flight. Our Ford makeup artist and hair stylist were phenomenal and we thank them for their amazing work and help getting us ready! Poko Pano kicked off MBFW with the very first show on Friday at The Raleigh Hotel pool. We all clinched on to our fans and drastically tried to keep cool in the blistering heat. Thankfully the show was a splash, literally, and we soon forgot about the heat and humidity and enjoyed the show and MBFW 10 Year Anniversary party and opening night event. DUO: Day to Night Challenge

We were challenged by British shoe company, DUO, to choose our favorite pair of shoes from their shop and style them from day to night. It was so much fun styling around the shoes to come up with complete new outfits, from our own wardrobe, to create two totally different looks. Check out what we came up with and all the other options that DUO has to offer! 52 Thursdays Celebrates Fashion For Paws 2014

We were very fortunate to both attend Fashion for Paws this year which was held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. You can always count us in for charity events especially when animals are involved! For those of you who have not heard of this runway show, it is a nationally acclaimed luxury brand event to help benefit the Washington Humane Society. The models who walk in the show agree to raise a minimum of $5,000 in just 10 weeks leading up to the event by taking part in a friendly fundraising competition. They are the bread and butter of this amazing fundraiser. We had so much fun watching these models strut down the aisle with their pups by their side, wearing the latest pieces that DC’s local luxury retailers carry. They were able to raise over $404k by the end of it all AND helped numerous sheltered doggies find forever homes that night! Such a fun event to attend, combining our two favorite things…fashion and dogs! Brilliant idea.
