We partnered up with South Moon Under, one of our favorite local shops back home in DC, to share with you our favorite hang out spots in our home towns. We love South Moon Under for one simple reason: it’s your one stop spot to shop. No matter what the occasion you are dressing for, they really do have it all. Enough to dress me all over Los Angeles while I show you where I spend most of my leisure time! Now I could share with you some of Los Angeles’s hottest tourist spots, but that would be too easy and you’re probably already aware of them. I want to introduce you to the places that may not always be on the maps but definitely a must stop while you are in the area and of course suggestions on how to dress for the visit. Venice is one of my favorite weekend hang outs for the simple reason that there is so much to do. They have the cutest restaurants, coffee shops, stores and of course there’s the beach. If you’re reading this, it’s probably because you love style and fashion. Maybe you love dresses, especially? Or specifically Diane von Furstenburg dresses? Can you remember when you fell in love with those dresses? Do you recall what started you on the sometimes heartbreaking and often bank account breaking fashion road? Here’s my story: I was raised in the racks of Loehmann’s (R.I.P.). This was back in the day – before we became spoiled with outlets and eBay. This was when Loehmann’s was the only (magical!) place you could buy designer clothes at a bit of a discount. Thousands of items hung squished together on enormous racks, but because it was so heavily discounted, the brands didn’t want their presence there known so designers made the store cut the tags out of their clothes. Imagine for a moment, walking into a store filled with both good stuff and garbage, and not having any obvious clues about what was Chanel and what was Anne Klein. Of course, I was six so I just ran headfirst into enormous piles of sweaters and giggled. But for my mom – the most stylish woman I’ve ever met –shopping was therapy. DUO: Day to Night Challenge

We were challenged by British shoe company, DUO, to choose our favorite pair of shoes from their shop and style them from day to night. It was so much fun styling around the shoes to come up with complete new outfits, from our own wardrobe, to create two totally different looks. Check out what we came up with and all the other options that DUO has to offer! The Perfect Tee

We are sure we are not the only ones that are constantly on a mission to find the perfect tee. Let’s be honest, as soon as temps hit above 90’s and creep into the 100’s, a flattering tee and some cut off shorts are always the go to.
