My Clueless Themed Birthday Party

Who doesn’t love a good theme party? I don’t think I ever grew out of the whole costume party phase from college and probably never will. This year I was just dying to have a Clueless themed party, not sure if it was the revival of the 90’s inspired fashion trends or if I was just nostalgic of my younger years but regardless it made for one hell of a party theme. Think fuzzy pens, knee socks, mini backpacks, crop tops, etc, does it get any better then that? My amazing husband threw it all together and even had Chipotle cater (for those of you that don’t know me as well-this is my all time favorite food/restaurant) so naturally I was in heaven. Thank you to all the Bettys and Baldwins that came and dressed up in your bitchin costumes, you totally looked rad. And it even helped soften the blow of turning the big 3-0… Audi, Sarah

This Old House Update

We are almost a month into our renovations and it seems that we are making major progress! We may even be able to move in soon! While living in a hotel has been nice, I am ready to get settled in our new home. Below are some pictures of the work in progress. Stay tuned for the big reveal in a few weeks! Notice the sagging beam? This was the major problem with the house. Now it is fixed and no more sagging floors! Jason, good friend and our contractor, working his magic on our house! Back when we had dirt floors.. Subfloor goes down and electrical goes in! New plumbing in the corner to replace old galvanized pipes. New support post and beam that will eventually be wrapped in an old wood to give it a rustic feel New insulation goes up! Preparing for drywall. Drywall where the kitchen will be New drywall where water heater closet will be and where the built in fidge will be. Now for the fun part! These are the kitchen cabinets we picked out. This (98 year) Old House

After months of searching and sleepless nights we finally found a house to call our own! My fiancé, Casey, and I purchased our first home in the Penrose Community of Arlington, VA. We purchased a fixer upper in a great neighborhood that we are hoping to transform into a beautiful first home for our little family! We are planning to do some major renovations to get this old house up to our standards, needless to say we have a lot of work to do. We will share with you our journey of demolition, renovations and DIY projects. Hopefully we will have some amazing after pictures to share with you soon. For now here are the before and demo pics, enjoy! Back when we first put an offer on the house..feels like forever ago. Casey tearing down the wall where we will open up the kitchen and add a breakfast bar. Pulling the drywall off of the beam that needs to be replaced.
