If you know me at all, you know that Intermix in Georgetown is my first and usually always my last stop to shop. They have it all, from designer pieces to new and up and coming vendors. Falling for South Moon Under

There are times when living and working in the big city can really wear a girl down. Sometimes you just have to get in your car, roll down the windows and head somewhere where the air is clean, the sky is big and the only traffic is a herd of cows crossing the road. For me, that place is my hometown of Warrenton, VA, a charming little town about 45 minutes (and a millions miles) west of D.C. Driving down the winding country roads is my stress relief. As the city fades in my rearview mirror, a sense of relaxation that can’t be found at the fanciest spa or yoga retreat washes over me. Warrenton is part of my heart and I am so blessed to have spent my formative years in such a beautiful part of our country. When I think of fall, I think of gold and auburn foliage, horses, wineries and, of course, plaid. When we teamed up with local boutique South Moon Under to style a shoot highlighting our favorite fall styles, I couldn’t wait to head to my perfect location. Football season has officially started, the seasonal Starbucks lattes are finally back, yellow school buses are making their rounds and brisk, cool nights are here and sticking around. So many traditional signs to let us know that Fall is amongst us and we are loving every minute of it. The early days of fall are always the most fun to dress for. So many transitional pieces to carry from summer to fall to even winter. The minimalist trend is one of our favorites by far. This simplistic, effortless and refined chic look is perfect for the transitioning weather, with fitted silhouettes and light layering pieces. Tights, boots and some killer wrap coats or oversized throws will take you to the next season until all you want to wear are your comfy, go to sweats come February! We wanted to showcase our favorite looks from H&M featuring the minimalist trend for this season. These looks could easily be worn for a date night out and even to the office if you throw on the cardigan. Behind The Scenes with Ashley Duru and Oribe

Fall is one of our favorite seasons, not just because of the gorgeous foliage and favorable weather, but more importantly for sartorial reasons. When prepping for our fall shoot, that was photographed by the talented Noelle Turbitt, we, of course, called our girl Ashley Duru, Artistic Director at Salon Emage to make us look the part. Salon Emage of Warrenton, Va recently launched the Oribe line, in their salon and we were so excited to excited for Ashley to use these luxurious products while styling our hair. We asked Ashley to give us the low down on how she went about styling our hair for our shoot and more about the products she used. Take it away Ashley! I was inspired by several of the vintage looks Sarah and Michelle pulled for their fall fashion shoot. I wanted to create a simple yet extremely glamorous look for both of them with soft vintage waves. Sarah’s Hair : I applied Volumista and Foundation Mist to wet hair for volume, hold, and shine.
