Scrub a dub dub, who is new to the tub? Baby Adaline was! Who knew the transition from the sink to the tub could be so difficult. Adaline who just turned 9 months is now 32 inches long (yup, she’s a long one) and we are both loooooong over due for this transition. As my increasingly mobile, long legged lady kicks and moves and splashes all over the kitchen, I knew it was time for the move. So I did what I normally do; google, read, ask mommy friends and try out new products until I find one that sticks. I just returned from my trip back home from DC and while traveling had attempted a few nightly baths in an adult bathtub but it did not go quite the way I had envisioned. I was trying my best to improvise by lying towels down and even placing her in a laundry basket but the open space and new environment frightened her. So I took action while away and ordered My Bath Seat™ from Summer Infant to return home to use immediately and all I can say is … SUCCESS! Baby girl loves it because it allows her to sit up and splash around while […]

I got the baby blues and 5 things I need to get over … I am very thankful that I never suffered from post part depression. I have had a few friends who did and of course read up on it before pregnancy in fear I may develop it. It’s a very common, real and difficult thing, especially since the very first few months should be some of your happiest moments ever. I will say that I have had some baby blues simply created from my new found role as mom. It’s THE most, BEST, amazing role to ever take on but being a “Mom” and the caretaker of another human being, well it’s flat out hard. It’s A LOT of stress! Imagine loving something so much, yet fearing for their well being at all times. Yes, I may be a bit of a worry wart for those who know me well, but it’s all good intentions. And because of that I wanted to share a few things that I have learned along the way now that baby girl is almost 9 months old to help any new mama’s or pregos to digest before they fall in to the light baby blues like I […]

Transitioning baby to nursery Part II … Did you guys read my previous post on transitioning baby to nursery?! I wanted to share another piece to our personal success of moving her in to her big girl room now that she is 8 months old and moving more than ever. Adaline since birth was ready to rock and roll. She’s all over the place in the crib, rolling around and making moves. The problem was, she kept hitting her lil’ noggin or would get one of those chunky thighs stuck in between the bars. This would keep me up all night and of course would create a very cranky baby the next day with insufficient sleep. I did some extensive research on alternatives to crib bumpers as I have read some unfortunate stories and risks which lead me to discover Go Mama Go. They had such amazing reviews on their vertical crib liners and of course decided to try it out! Obsessed. I kid you not, this child rolls all around the crib and now that she is sitting up will just flat out fall in to the bars. These vertical pads have been so convenient and have prevented many tears from […]

Mama has got your back baby girl! Sharing my tips to transitioning baby in to the nursery … This post is loooong over due. Typical me excuse but totally true. I really wanted to write a post on transitioning baby in to his/her room because it’s something that not all new moms think about until the time comes. I wanted to share my personal experience because I can’t be the only un prepared mommy out there, right?! So when it came time to move her in to her big girl room at about 3 months, I was a complete mess. Of course I wasn’t getting any sleep to begin with so my anxiety level was through the roof. I had two cameras on her, well still do but I don’t stare at both religiously like I did once before. Every time I woke up, I would check the cameras by zooming in and ensuring that she was breathing. Then of course I couldn’t go back to sleep once I had that reassurance because I was just staring in to a lit screen for minutes looking for movement from a tiny infant. This would go on all night. So not healthy, I know. I was […]
