Peace of mind is everything. Have you ever felt like you were being followed or in a sticky situation and you felt helpless that if something were to happen no one would have any idea how to find you? Not going to lie, the thought has crossed my mind a time or two. Even though I feel strong and have a gun in my home for home protection, I still feel like if I were to be attacked that I would be completely powerless. WiseWear, an emerging tech company, realized this fear that women were having and did something about it. They created a fitbit like bracelet that not only tracks your steps, calories, and distance traveled but also has a security feature that will contact your loved ones if you were ever to be in a bad situation. Believe it or not, I don’t own a fitbit and never have. I guess I never thought it was necessary to own one since I am always in the gym and constantly moving around. Recently, WiseWear reached out to me to try out their “fitbit” like product. I was skeptical at first but after seeing their design and their innovative technology and […]

Pink has never really been my go to color, in fact I usually try to avoid it at all costs. But after realizing that 99% of the dresses hanging in my closet were black, I thought I should probably branch out and add some color to my wardrobe. With wedding season in full effect and since I am attending 8 of them this summer/fall, I have been stocking up on dresses that I can wear to rehearsal dinners, wedding ceremonies and all other wedding related events. After showing up to a wedding earlier this year wearing the same dress as another attendee, I decided that maybe I needed to expand my search and dive a bit deeper into the inter-webs for dresses that I would be sure I wouldn’t be “twinning” in. This dress caught my eye when I was browsing online because of the the way the fabric draped on the model and how free flowing it was. I love a dress that moves with you and comes to life on the dance floor because when JT’s new hit comes on, you best believe I will be breaking out the dance moves! It is light and airy which is perfect for those end […]

April is a strange month, mostly because I was born in it but also because of the crazy weather it brings. During this wacky month here in VA we have experienced snow, 90 degree weather, a boat load of pollen flying around and a decent amount of rain. Luckily I have an app on my phone that wakes me up with the weather and a humidity count each day, otherwise I would be completely lost when trying to get ready in the morning. Depending on the day or what I have going on, I always carry my new Barbour rain coat with me. Because no matter what, showers could occur at practically any moment. I am absolutely in love with this little jacket because it repels rain, is super light, has huge pockets to keep all my stuff and is beyond cute. I have worn it with a preppy little outfit like pictured in this post, with jeans and heels and even over my workout clothes when it decides to pour down rain. Regardless of the situation, I have not left the house without this handy coat since it arrived on my doorstep from Tuckernuck and I’m pretty sure it won’t […]

I am constantly amazed by the amount of successful women that surround me. It is both uplifting and inspiring to personally know so many women who decided to stray from the conventional 9-5 desk jobs to follow their passions and dreams. A large reason why I decided to take the plunge into self employment and start my own business and let me tell you that my life has changed dramatically and I haven’t looked back since the day I walked out of that office. When my good friends, Jennifer Gray and Brittany Hartz told me they were starting an boho/equestrian inspired clothing line called sigAshop; I knew the second they told me that it would be wildly successful because the passion and love they both have for horses and for fashion. Both things that I am also pretty crazy about! Growing up with these girls on neighboring horse farms in Warrenton, VA, we have a lot of the same values. Living in the city now, it makes me really appreciate where I came from and proud of the work ethic that farm life taught me. I know that these girls will be successful not only because they make beautiful clothing but because […]
