					<description><![CDATA[<p>#BeYourGoals Event Recap A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of hosting a fitness class + happy hour with a group of my newest friends at lovely new Henri Apartments located within Pike &#38; Rose. We started out the evening with a cardio/body weight workout led by Barre3 owner and instructor, Meredith. She currently owns the Barre3 studio in Old Town Alexandria and has another studio that is about to open on 3/2 in Bethesda. She led us through a 45-minute burner in the cutest yoga/barre room located on the third floor of The Henri. Meredith whooped our booties into shape with some of the hardest movements I have done and we didn’t even use weights! It’s crazy how much a body-weight movement can burn when it’s something you aren’t used to doing. I was dying but in a good way! The women in our class were high energy, which helped everyone stick with it until the bitter end. But knowing that cocktails and snacks were to come next, also helped too! After we were done sweating it out with Meredith, we headed across the street to Summer House for craft cocktails and light bites. It was so nice [&#8230;]</p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>It&#8217;s no secret that I love things that get me sweaty. That includes working out, hot foods and steamy weather. But one thing that might surprise you is that I despise long distance running, even though the sweat-equity is super high on this one. I would rather lift weights, sprint, row, jump rope, pretty much would rather do anything other than go on a long distance run. So when I signed up for the Baltimore 10 miler, my husband thought I had lost my mind. While the verdict is still out on that one, I am still lacing up my running shoes and training for my first long distance race ever. While I do feel very physically fit and my body is ready for almost anything, I don&#8217;t think my mind is quite there yet. It&#8217;s the mental game that really intimidates me about long distance running. How do you keep yourself moving for 10 miles without breaking to walk? What do you think about? I feel like I will be bored after mile 1! Help! So along with training my brain for this race, I am also training my body by increasing my runs each week, adding more track work into [&#8230;]</p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>2016 was a great year, one of the best yet, but I am especially excited about what 2017 holds. This past year brought many amazing business opportunities my way but also came with some struggles too. I think highs and lows are an integral part of becoming successful but it&#8217;s those lows that you learn and gain the most from. In 2016 I learned a lot about myself and my business and although I know I had accomplished so much, I still felt like something was missing. It was around the same time that I really began to focus on my fitness goals with Crossfit.  I was craving something new, a challenge I hadn&#8217;t experienced before and Crossfit helped was just the thing I needed at the time. I wasn&#8217;t only seeing results with my figure but it inspired me to take what I had learned and loved so much about fitness and bring it to the blog.  And since I was spending 90% of my week in fitness gear, I felt like I had the fitness style portion in the bag. Fitness felt so effortless and natural to write about and what felt like was that missing piece to [&#8230;]</p>
