We usually focus on the big gifts this time of year and round up our top picks to give to our friends and family. But this year we wanted to make sure we covered all bases and paid some attention to one of the most fun traditions of the season. The stocking stuffer gift guide! The main reason why we love the holiays so dearly is the gathering of family and loved ones. Reminiscing on past holidays and continuing the rituals from when we were younger. One of them being the stockings! We still get that wonderful, nostalgic feeling going to our parents and seeing our stockings with our names inscribed on the top, hanging over the lit fire place. We each still carry on the tradition in hopes to grow our family over the fire place and fill those stockings for little ones soon to come. Which is why we rounded up our stocking stuffer gift guide with plenty of little gift ideas to stock your socks. Whether you are gifting stuffed stockings for friends or carrying on the tradition in your family for loved ones, here are 10 ideas to help you stuff your socks! Pencils: Ok, not just regular pencils …we stumbled upon LZPENCILS instagram account and […]

Looking back on our day together out on Sarah’s family farm, it was absolutely perfect. It may have been cold, over-cast and rainy which is not the typical weather you would normally get excited for but we came prepared. We brought a long our new pieces from DeNada to keep us cozy and warm so that we could focus on catching up instead of freezing our buns off. We discovered DeNada Designs last year and fell in love with every piece, even more so when we got the opportunity to chat it up with the brains behind this beautiful creation, Virginia Blanca Arrisueño. Her main inspiration comes from the culture and traditions of her Peruvian heritage, where she continues to work closely with skilled artisans in Peru to create and grow DeNada’s collection. We love how every piece has a contemporary feel with ethnic elements to provide style, warmth and most importantly, quality. So we say “de nada” meaning you’re welcome in Spanish. You are very welcome for introducing you to the coolest hand knit pieces around town. Check out the full collection here. Perfect for last minute gift ideas to keep everyone cozy and warm this holiday season and beyond. Michelle is wearing: Poncho (Denada); […]

This weekend, Michelle and I went to check out the first ever Thread event at Union Market in DC. First of all, if you have never been to Union Market, you must get in your car and drive there as quickly as possible. Not only does this unique market have some of the hottest restaurants, good booze and cute shops but they also have a farmers market on the weekends. My absolute favorite thing to eat at Union Market are the korean tacos from Takorean, you have to try the Bulgogi Taco with Kimchi Slaw (you can thank me later). But I might not be seeing them as often as usual because my all time favorite ramen shop, Toki Underground, has a Pop-Up-Shop set up there for the next month. If you see a blonde chick slurping ramen in the corner..odds are that will be me. Enough about food, let’s talk about Thread. Thread was located upstairs (above the market) from Friday to Sunday this past weekend. Carefully selected designers and retailers were invited to set up shop in this super hip space to sell their unique products. Below are pictures and links to my favorite designers and shops, some […]
