No matter where you live, big city or small-town U.S.A., there’s no question that shopping for new fall clothes can be hard. Believe me, I know first hand. You go shopping with something particular in mind and then you never seem to find it or you end up buying a bunch of things that never end up working together, which leaves you frustrated and down right mad. But don’t lose hope quite yet because I have a few simple solutions that will help you jumpstart your fall wardrobe update. Striped shirts may seem so basic but don’t write off this easy print as boring just yet, because its all about how you layer them. I have been rocking my striped shirts with my favorite long line vest, overalls, and with my new leather moto jacket. Simple yet refined. Another fall favorite of mine is the A-Line denim skirt. It may bring back memories of high school and college, but the denim skirt has been making a slow and steady comeback this year. Trust me, its something worth looking into. My absolute must-have item for fall is a long vest. What I love about these pieces are how well they […]

What if I told you that a there was a pair of leggings out there that would help you improve your fitness performance and also reduce cellulite? Would you call me a crazy liar? I wouldn’t blame you because that was exactly my reaction when Vimmia called me up to tell me about their Vimmia X line, that claims to do just that. It just sounded way too good to be true but after I put them to the test I was pleasantly surprised that these leggings actually DO live up to their name. I try to get in a workout 4-5 days a week, which means I usually end up wearing my workout clothes for the majority of the week. Since I have found myself living in my activewear over the past few months, my fitness collection has at least doubled in size. Most of the pieces being from one of my favorite fitness brands, Vimmia Active. The thing I love about Vimmia’s line is that they design their clothing with fashion forward and active women in mind. Their gear is comfortable, stylish, fits like a glove and always stays in place when working out. There’s nothing I hate […]

Can you believe it’s 2015!?! It was just the other day we were scrambling around trying to get ready for the holidays and it come and went just as fast as Rebecca Black’s Musical career. Now we are faced with the New Year! It’s sure been a fun and eventful 2014 but we are so looking forward to 2015 and the new adventures it has in store for us! To celebrate the 2014 and welcome 2015, we rounded up our top favorite posts from 2014 in no particular order. We are so thankful for the experiences and opportunities and can’t wait to continue to share our adventures with you! 1. XTEND BARRE REVIEW Our Xtend Barre review was one of the most exciting shoots we have had the opportunity to do. Working with so many different, amazing active wear companies while discovering our new found love of Barre was such a fun experience, all while being captured by the talented Elliott O’Donovan. 2. New York Fashion Week We were so excited to be able to attend New York Fashion Week this year.

If you haven’t heard of or taken a barre class yet, you have been missing out. We all remember the days of tutus and point shoes, and, even if we are a little rusty in our 5th position, barre also incorporates a wide range of other strength and flexibility excercises. So even if you can’t support your entire body on your big toe anymore, fear not; there is a class for every skill level. Stand out at the barre by adding these new featured designers to your workout wardrobe. These fashion forward designs will help motivate you and give you the confidence to excel through your work out. Ballet Stretches at the Barre C Curve Abs Kelly Griffith is owner and instructor at Fuel Pilates and Xtend Barre DC. Kelly went to her first Pilates class in 2007 and three years later she opened Fuel Pilates in Georgetown DC. In 2012 she opened her second studio Xtend Barre DC in Blagden Alley. Kelly has her Comprehensive Pilates certification through BASI Pilates. She also completed a pre/post-natal cerification with Carolyne Anthony—the industry’s expert on the subject— from The Center of Women’s Fitness.
