California is such a wonderful state. My husband and I have really enjoyed ourselves while living here and have tried to take advantage of as much local traveling and exploring while we can. From a weekend getaway up north to Yosemite National Park to our monthly beach trips to Malibu about 45 minutes out, there is just so much to do and so much left to check off on our California Bucket List. We were a bit exhausted after our last travels to Yosemite with all the driving and site seeing, we needed a little r&r. Pasadena, California has been on our list to check out and we thought right before the holidays when the mayhem begins would be the best time to go for a little weekend getaway. So we packed up our weekend travel bags along with our fur baby and headed to our new favorite hotel dusitd2 Hotel Constance Pasadena, a member of Preferred Hotels a luxury hotels & resorts site. Pasadena is known for hosting the annual Rose Bowl football game and Tournament of Roses Parade. Also home to many scientific and cultural institutions and most importantly … the setting of me and husband’s favorite TV show, The Big Bang […]

Started from the bottom literally … two hours later we made it to the top. It was a long, winding journey throughout Yosemite but 100% worth it, with the unforgettable views of Yosemite Falls, Half Dome and the breath taking Glacier Point. Yosemite is a destination that reminds you how beautiful Earth truely is and all the glory of mother nature, from the skyscraper trees to the jaw dropping cliffs. Next trip, we will attempt to do more hiking and dare I say some camping? To be determined. We were on a tight schedule and took the comfortable route, taking in the view with the car seat warmers on. It was a warm 70 degrees before we left, but temperatures dropped drastically to 42 degrees at the top. We stopped off at the look out locations while trucking to the top, witnessing everything from forest fires to hail and snow. After 9 hours of driving, parking, exploring, repeat. … we caped off our journey at The Ahwanhee Hotel. My aunt and uncle suggested to check out the location where they had designed and installed the lighting (Phoenix Day Lighting) in this remarkable four-diamond hotel. We relaxed by the fire with a warm bowl of chile, […]

I guess Cabin Fever may not be the best title, more like the opposite of just that. I have been sitting back in LA, with the fan blowing directly on me as the temperature has been reaching mid-90s, observing my friends and family back home on the East Coast enjoying the cool, brisk, fall weather. I was jealous, sad, hot – I had to get out and find me a piece of fall. A heaven, somewhere where the foliage is prominent, the air is brisk and the view is perfection. My little family (hubs, fur baby and I) packed our bags and set off for a weekend get away. Our destination was in Northern California at the cutest cabin that sat on the side of a mountain in Twain Harte, just an hour or so out from Yosemite National Park. We left on a Friday and got caught in terrible LA traffic due to unexpected mudslides which delayed us about 4 hours … but 9.5 hours later, we made it! Our first day we decided to relax and explore the area. We did some souvenir shopping downtown, then ventured back to the cabin to explore the mountain up close with the […]
