Shoulder Season

Yup thats right, it’s already shoulder season over here. Temperatures are warming up fast and the sun is showing face which means I can pull out the cut off denim shorts and all the shoulder bearing tops from that storage bin under my bed. I love a good off the shoulder top because it’s quite effortlessly cute and even sexy with just a little extra skin bearing. I brought this piece with me to Ojai Valley Inn & Spa where my husband and I enjoyed a relaxing mini vacation. We worked out, lounged by the pool, had a picnic outside, watched the pink sunset over the mountains and just enjoyed each other’s company. Can’t get better than that. You can tell from the coloring and brightness in my photos, that we captured these pictures both as the sun was out as well as when it was beginning to set creating the most magnificent color scheme in the sky. It was breathtaking and the photo below really captured the essence of the resort’s beauty and tranquility. I can’t wait to share more of our Ojai trip with you guys next week! The Crop Top Trend

Crop tops are not going out of style anytime soon. They re-emerged in 2011 and have yet to fade out as we see them making their way down the runways of Fall 2015 and I’m sure we will see them again very soon in Spring 2016. Crop tops have proven to be a staple item. The next time you’re editing your closet, consider holding onto your crop top(s) as history has proven that they’ll come back around. They have made their rounds throughout fashion in various forms – from collared, short sleeve styles in the 1940’s to cut off sweat shirts and tees of the 80’s aerobics era. When you think of a crop top, you think “all out” (abs, belly button and all). Well, this is what I love about the selection of today’s crop tops, we can get creative and put our own personal style in today’s options. Whether it’s a high waisted fitted skirt for a curvy night out or style it with a pair of cut off shorts for a relaxed, good-vibes feel.
