Postpartum Recovery + a yummy GIVEAWAY!! June 27th, 2017 sweet Adaline was born. My world will forever be changed. For the better of course, but at the moment that world consists of very little sleep and very little time to worry about anything other than what’s most important in my life, which is my daughter. I knew it was going to be tough taking care of an infant but I don’t think anyone can be fully mentally prepared. It’s more like a transition. A transition from uncomfortable sleep while pregnant, to just […]

The opinions and ideas expressed here are my own.” #HealthWarriorWay We don’t want to sit here and bore you with the same New Year’s Resolutions, but we have a feeling that 2017 is going to be pretty awesome. Both of us continue to chase our dreams, each achieving different yet impactful milestones. With Sarah taking on the role of Style and Beauty Editor of Strong Fitness and Michelle embarking on motherhood, we have a new outlook on our health and well-being. Sure, fitness is important, and we have expressed this multiple times, but how often do we talk about how our food intake actually fuels and energizes us? We all need that reminder and motivation, whether it’s to power through your CrossFit session or to keep that energy going after a long day at work followed by the craziness of motherhood. We want to start our 2017 fresh and mindful, which is why we are so fortunate to have discovered Health Warrior. They are the first to include chia seeds as the #1 ingredient in the most delicious, convenient way as part of their amazing […]

Soup season is here and I’m pretty excited about it. There is nothing more satisfying on a cold, chilly night than a homemade bowl of warm soup or chowder. It has become a weekly ritual in our household to try a new recipe and save our favorites. A pot full of soup in the fridge will feed us for days. It is a cost efficient and belly filling means to stay warm on cold nights. It all began thanks to my From the Farmer delivery and receiving two heads of cabbage, that’s a lot of cabbage! So I had to think of something to do with it… sauerkraut…kimchi… nope, both too complex. Due to a slam packed week and a limited window of opportunity I decided to go with soup – chop it up, add spices, cover. Too easy. Below is a basic, easy cabbage and potatoes soup recipe. The ingredients are simple and you can edit to your preference. This one pot soup is delicious and so easy to pull together. I went with the following: 2 tablespoons of olive oil 2 carrots, diced 2 stalks celery, diced 2 cloves garlic, minced 6 cups vegetable broth 2 medium gold potatoes, diced 1/2 head large […]
