Work Dress Codes w/ Capitol Hill Style

Every weekday morning I stand in front of my closet, coffee mug in hand, completely baffled about what to wear to work. When I finally make a decision (at the last possible moment) I leave behind a disaster zone—clothes and hangers cover nearly every inch of my closet, my bedroom and sometimes even my dog. I have a problem. I know that. But I don’t think I’m alone. I can’t be the only one questioning every outfit choice I make: Is this sweater too casual? Am I showing too much skin? Does this dress seem formal or does it cross into cocktail? The list goes on and on. Not only does my indecision make me late, it means I come home from a long day’s work to a room that’s a mess. Does this sound familiar? We need help! The hot and humid Summer weather has officially made its presence here in the DC area. Don’t get us wrong, we love the warmer weathers but it can be brutal and uncomfortable if your wardrobe and makeup bags aren’t prepared for it. We wanted to share our top 7 (5 + 2) Summer Essentials to help you get through the Summer in style. 1. Mirrored Sunnies: With a cool reflection, mirrored sunnies make for the perfect shades this summer. That and they are great for taking selfies! We are loving Illesteva, specifically this tortouise style with blue contrast mirrored frames which creates the perfect POC to any outfit. 2. The Perfect Tee: We have already preached how important it is to find the perfect tee, specifically for the Summer to throw on effortlessly. Enza Costa is one of our favorite vendors because they have successfully mastered the fit and fabrication of all their styles. DUO: Day to Night Challenge

We were challenged by British shoe company, DUO, to choose our favorite pair of shoes from their shop and style them from day to night. It was so much fun styling around the shoes to come up with complete new outfits, from our own wardrobe, to create two totally different looks. Check out what we came up with and all the other options that DUO has to offer!
