That, coupled with the fall weather, had me reminiscing about those care free days when I would throw on a college hoody, skinny jeans and a pair of Uggz. Yes, I know how cliché that is and I’m not going to lie…I still own a pair and still wear those Uggz when I walkthe fur-baby below 30 degrees. Don’t judge. Well as I mentioned, the overcast skies, scattered showers and brisk, cool weather in Richmond made for perfect cozy, sweater weather. My favorite go to in the fall now is a silk or denim button down shirt layered under a chunky knit sweater. This simple combo creates an effortless element to any fall look and if the weather brings a surprise warm up, you just shed a layer! I added my new joie crepe joggers to complete the look which was perfect since they are incredibly comfortable and perfect for weekends like this. Martasand A Night At The Arlington County Fair Funnel cakes, cotton candy and sugary lemonade are just a few reasons why we look forward to the county fair each year. It’s a time where we can throw our inhibitions out the window and indulge in all of the gluttony surrounding us.  Living in walking distance of the Arlington County Fair makes it almost a cardinal sin not to visit the local staple on an annual basis. On long days like these we opt to wear something chic yet comfortable; may we introduce you to the almighty shift dress. Shift dresses are perfect to wear during the warmer weather and can easily go from day to night with a quick change of shoes and accessories. Shift dresses have been popular since the 60’s and still are to this day due to their loose fitting and forgiving silhouettes.  Be sure to find one with the right length as some shifts can be unflattering and overwhelming if too long but easily fixed with a simple hem.
