Miami Swim Week – 10 Insider Tips My obsession with swim week started 4 years ago when Michelle and I attended for the first time. This was also the first REAL fashion show that we had ever attended, so it was a huge deal for us. Since that first Miami Swim Week, we have made it back 3 times (2 together and 1 on my own) because we love it that much. I mean what’s not to love about swimwear, beach parties and mingling with the industry’s finest all while drinking mojitos. This year I headed to swim week on my own (since Michelle isn’t quite ready to travel with the little one yet) but our friend and nutrition coach, Leah had just moved to Miami with her little Pom pup Peanut, so I was in good company. We attended a bunch of shows, caught up on the latest swim trends (coming to the blog soon), met with brands at Hammock and Cabana, attended pop up shops and a few press brunches. Swim Week Video Diary with Bag Borrow or Steal

Swim week has come to a close but the memories will live on forever because we have created a video diary with all of our favorite moments from the week. We partnered up with Natalie from The Fashionably Broke and created a short video with clips from our favorite shows, parties, Miami hot spots and the outfits we wore doing it all. We know it is sometimes hard to see whats really going on at events like fashion week and swim week by only sharing still photos, so we decided to turn the video camera on and capture all the Miami Swim Week excitement that we possibly could. We started our blog because we both are head over heels for fashion, we always have been. And it’s events like New York Fashion Week and Miami Swim Week that get us the most excited about what we do. South Moon in South Beach

Packing for fashion week is no joke. You never know who you are going to see or meet and you always want to look your best. Unlike New York Fashion Week, Swim Week is held annually in Miami in the midst of summer. Not sure who or why they decided to hold Swim Week in the hottest destination during the hottest month in summer but hey, at least they have really good mojitos right? So when packing, you have to take the extreme heat into account and make sure that you are able to wear something that is fashion forward, comfortable and wont make you sweat like a pig. Having learned the hard way last year with some sweat-tastic outfit choices, we knew that this year had to get it right, our deodorant depended on it. With all of our concerns in mind we headed to South Moon Under, which has always been a go to store of ours. We frequently shop there for everyday outfits, gifts and they have the best swimwear and cover-up selection in the DMV area. BECCA at Swim Week

Think beach, sun, cocktails and fashion. Just a few of the main ingredients that make up Swim Week in Miami. What fashion and travel obsessed blogger would say no to a beach excursion like this? Naturally we jumped on our first trip to Swim Week last year where we were introduced to a whole new perspective in the fashion game; new swimwear lines, hotels, PR friends, start up companies, events, the list goes on. Once Swim Week 2015 was locked in, we booked our tickets and headed on our now annual adventure. We were introduced to BECCA by Rebecca Virtue on our last Miami trip and have stayed in great contact with them as they have become one of our favorite companies to work with. So of course wearing Becca at Swim Week in between our events to the pool and beach was high on our priority list. The pleasures of being a blogger is having the opportunity to mix work with pleasure.
