As a new mom, I have a whole new appreciation for Mother’s Day. It was a day to send flowers and a sweet note to my mom reminding her how much I love and appreciate her but I don’t think I grasped how much my mom has done and given up in order to put me first. But this mother’s day will be different … forever. Since Adaline entered the world exactly 2 weeks ago, my life has been turned upside down, for the best, but nonetheless upside down. Restless nights, baby brain to the max, a very messy home, loads of laundry, lots of dirty diapers and a whole lot of pumping and feeding. The week before I gave birth, my mom and I were out and about, shopping and dining out as much as we could to pass the time while we waited for baby girl’s past due date arrival. And just like that, this sweet little girl entered my life and my perspective on life and what’s important has completely reorganized.
