I may not be headed back to school but I’m feeling the whole back to school style. From plaid and flannel shirts to backpacks and new kicks. Not only are the kids back in school, but football has made its arrival, the weather is getting a bit cooler and the local coffee stores have already brought out their seasonal fall drinks. Like many others, this time of year is my favorite time of year. The list of reasons why Fall makes me so happy could have a dedicated blog post, but let’s focus on one of the most important ones… Fall Fashion! As corny as it may sound, I feel as giddy as a little school girl seeing the latest fall trends in magazines, stores and runways. How can I recreate the look? What pieces do I need to buy? What can I pull out of my closet? This Fall will be my first here in LA. Falling for South Moon Under

There are times when living and working in the big city can really wear a girl down. Sometimes you just have to get in your car, roll down the windows and head somewhere where the air is clean, the sky is big and the only traffic is a herd of cows crossing the road. For me, that place is my hometown of Warrenton, VA, a charming little town about 45 minutes (and a millions miles) west of D.C. Driving down the winding country roads is my stress relief. As the city fades in my rearview mirror, a sense of relaxation that can’t be found at the fanciest spa or yoga retreat washes over me. Warrenton is part of my heart and I am so blessed to have spent my formative years in such a beautiful part of our country. When I think of fall, I think of gold and auburn foliage, horses, wineries and, of course, plaid.
