52 Thursdays Celebrates Fashion For Paws 2014

We were very fortunate to both attend Fashion for Paws this year which was held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. You can always count us in for charity events especially when animals are involved! For those of you who have not heard of this runway show, it is a nationally acclaimed luxury brand event to help benefit the Washington Humane Society. The models who walk in the show agree to raise a minimum of $5,000 in just 10 weeks leading up to the event by taking part in a friendly fundraising competition. They are the bread and butter of this amazing fundraiser. We had so much fun watching these models strut down the aisle with their pups by their side, wearing the latest pieces that DC’s local luxury retailers carry. They were able to raise over $404k by the end of it all AND helped numerous sheltered doggies find forever homes that night! Such a fun event to attend, combining our two favorite things…fashion and dogs! Brilliant idea. We are so excited that it’s finally starting to warm up here in DC and beginning to feel more like spring, especially after the bizarre weather we had just a few days ago. With the sun finally out and temps reaching close to 70 degrees today we felt it was about time to bring out the skirt and bare legs! For our look of the day, we choose to pair this flared leather skirt with a lightweight, detailed sweater and added a statement necklace to make this outfit really pop. How to Dress Warm for Spring?

Spring is finally upon us, yet we are still bundled up here in DC with snow still covering the ground and temps in the low 30’s and 40’s. It’s kind of hard to think of wearing shorts and silk dresses, in the near future, when all we want to do is throw on sweats and a hoodie. This week we felt inspired by the the sporty trends that strutted down the Spring 2014 runways. We paired this must have rag & bone v-neck sweater with a pair of Zara boyfriend jeans and a pointy toe pump to create a soft, casual look yet still appropriate to keep us warm in this brutal weather. Definitely looking forward to pairing this sweater with a cute black skort or cut off boyfriend shorts once the temperatures warm up! Thanks to this sweet boy, Louis, for modeling with his mommy. Meet Luke Skywalker

Meet Lucky Dog, Luke Skywalker! Luke Skywalker is a Finnish Spitz mix, who is around 2-3 years old and weighing in at around 40 lbs. Luke Skywalker is looking for a home with no cats (since he likes to chase them) and no kids. He is currently living with his foster parents in D.C but is looking for his forever home! This sweet boy would love long walks and a yard of his own to play fetch in with his new parents. Luke Skywalker would also make a great running partner and would help you get in beach ready shape for summer! His foster reports he is a happy, adorable pup that spends most of his day snoozing and chill-axing on the couch. Luke Skywalker is a smart guy who would love to bond with you during obedience class learning new tricks. He already knows “sit” and just recently learned peek-a-boo. Luke Skywalker will need an experienced, dog-savvy owner to help him gain some confidence and learn how to handle change.
