Health Hack: Slow Cooker Chipotle Burrito Bowls… 2016 was my year of fitness, so now that I have that dialed in, 2017 is going to be all about focusing on my nutrition. You are going to be hearing a lot about this over the next few months, so if you have perfect nutrition, then I apologize in advance for boring you with my health journey. But if you are like me and struggle to find healthy, easy, and delicious meals to make at home, then this post is for you. Most people that know me know that I LOVE Chipotle. One time I ate Chipotle 3 times in one day, I’m not even kidding. So when I saw this slow cooker burrito bowl recipe on FromThePod.com it immediately caught my attention. Something easy, healthy and that somewhat resembles a Chipotle burrito bowl? Sign me up! The best part about this recipe is that after clicking one button, all the ingredients are in your cart at Peapod.com and a day later they are on your doorstep. Didn’t even have to leave the house! It doesn’t get much easier than that! Throw all of the ingredients in the crockpot in the morning […]

This post is sponsored by Pinnacle® Vodka If you haven’t picked up on it, we are a little obsessed with Pinnacle®. With quality vodka at an affordable price and tons of seasonal flavors you can use, the drink options really are endless. We have shared an orange whipped dreamsicle, tropical fruit punch and the perfect peach cocktail with Pinnacle® for fall. So this time around, we decided to switch it up and try the original Pinnacle® vodka and come up with a traditional drink with a fall twist for our cocktail of the week, Apple Cider Sangria! The garnishes are everything, and they really make this drink feel festive yet so easy to prepare! It’s perfect for relaxing on the porch on a cool fall evening or for a girl’s night out. The colors will work perfectly with any fall decorations and the taste is even more to talk about. That is why it has earned the title of our cocktail of the week, and it will definitely be served on Thanksgiving this year to share with family and friends. Apple Cider Sangria 2 apples 1 orange 1/4 cup pomegranate seeds 1 tbsp honey 1/2 tsp cinnamon 2 1/2 cups of apple cider 1 cup […]

It’s hard to believe that Valentine’s Day is only a few days away and that it is already time to celebrate this love filled holiday. It’s funny, at the beginning of my husband and I’s relationship, I would get all dolled up and we would head out to a fancy dinner on Valentine’s Day but in the past few years we have realized that it’s about something more than an expensive dinner. This holiday is about celebrating your relationship, your love for one another and making sure you show one another how much you care. Casey and I’s Valentine’s Day tradition (and my all time favorite date night) is going to Chipotle, seeing a good movie and then coming home to have dessert that I prepared. We exchange cards, have our dessert and enjoy a beer or a glass of wine together. Since this Valentine’s Day I will be in NYC attending Fashion Week, Casey and I decided to celebrate a bit early and I wanted to share the dessert that I made, that we both cant stop talking about. May I introduce you to the Peanut Butter & Mascarpone Pie with DuClaw Naked Fish Beer & Coconut Sauce. It is decadent, super easy to make […]

Thanksgiving is a special day of the year when we gather together with family and close friends to celebrate each other and all that we are thankful for. It’s our family traditions that make this time of year so nostalgic and memorable. Grandma making her entrance with pecan pie in hand, Mom in the kitchen putting together her infamous creamy and buttery mashed potatoes, the nephews and nieces gathered around the table decorating Aunt Peggy’s sugar cookies. These are just a few of the family traditions that I look forward to each year that bring joy to my heart. The unfortunate part is that most of these also make my belly too full to enjoy the rest of the evening. I feel like a stuffed turkey myself! So for this Thanksgiving, we were looking to trim the fat but not the fun. Hoping to skip the unpleasant evening of indigestion, we thought we would try adding a healthy twist to our favorite recipes. Our goal was to look for dishes that opt for healthier ingredients and go lighter on the bad stuff, BUT most importantly, will still please a crowd and keep alive the traditions that make this day one we look forward to each year. For an appetizer we thought […]
