Banana Republic has been one of my go-to stores for years. I used to shop at Banana for all of my work attire back when I had a 9-5er because I knew the fit would always be on point, that their clothing would hold up and would be reasonably priced. Now that I am self employed, I don’t need the suits and work dresses that I once did but I still head into Banana for my wardrobe staples. The thing I love about Banana Republic is that they put a twist on the classics and keep their pieces updated and new without being overly trendy. I know if I invest in a piece from Banana that I will get tons of wear out of it and will have it for years to come. If you are looking for wardrobe staples that you will get your cost per wear out of, then Banana Republic is the place for you. This is also one of my go-to stores to buy holiday gifts because I know that if I give something from Banana that they will love it or they can easily exchange it for something that suits them better. Check out some of my favorite pieces from our […]

Wearing: Coat: Vintage (similar here), Shirt: Everlane (similar here), Jeans: Paige Denim (similar here), Shoes: Vintage Dolce & Gabbana Loafers (similar here), Sunglasses: Rayban, Earrings: Hanuel, Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim. Attending fashion week leaves me inspired on so many levels. It excites me for a new season to come, fresh trends to play with and it gives me so many ideas for my business. I’m pretty stoked about all of the trends to come for fall but let’s get real, it’s finally looking like it’s warm enough to talk Spring, so let’s get into what we can start wearing now. If I had to guess which trend I will be favoring this Spring, I would have to go with the 70’s movement. I have always had a thing for flare leg jeans and everything hippy chic, which most likely stems from years of my sister and I playing dress up in my mom’s closet. I hope whomever scored her digs from Goodwill a few years back, is enjoying them because I would absolutely kill to have those kaftans and flares right about now… Flare leg jeans fit my 5’6 frame like a freaking charm. They lengthen my legs and paired a stacked heel, they make […]

Winter in DC can be rough. Living in a cold climate like ours, you have two choices. Hibernate in your home for the winter (which is sometimes an attractive option) or bundle up and go on with life as usual. We have to admit, we do a little of both when the frigid air moves in but like most people we can’t slow down or stop working just because it’s cold outside. The struggle is real when dressing for the cold weather in a city like ours. There are endless events to attend and to dress for, we are talking: work receptions, happy hours, sporting games, the list goes on and on. And wearing the same old same sweater and parka combo can get pretty mundane and leaves us not only feeling depressed about the bone chilling weather that we are enduring but also with our wardrobes. We have been there, we can sympathize but this year we are making an effort to change it up, to not let winter get the best of us and our wardrobes. Scroll down for a few of our tips on how we survive winter in DC. Sarah is pictured wearing: Poncho: Zara; Black Sweater: ASOS; Necklace: Coco […]

It’s been one hell of a year. Michelle and I celebrated one year of blogging, attended our first New York Fashion Week, launched 52 Thursdays Consulting and attended our first Film Premier. And while we have had many great accomplishments this year there is no way we would be where we are with out our husbands. They are our photographers, our cheerleaders, our editors, they really help keep this whole thing going and we are so thankful to them for putting up with us! And while we have had an amazing year, I couldn’t let my husband’s even better year go un-noticed. While building an incredibly successful political media firm over the past 4 years and producing numerous award winning tv commercials, during the busiest time of his career he wrote a screen play that was produced into a short film called, ‘Ignition’. Casey’s short film ‘Ignition’, won the Volvo Cars-sponsored film contest that opened up the Jalopnik Film Festival held in NYC on November 5th and 6th. Volvo funded the project and our good friends at 8112 Studios did a beautiful job bringing life to Casey’s script. The film tells a story about a grandfather and his grandson repairing their relationship […]
