Have you ever put together an outfit that makes you feel damn good? You know the one that puts a little extra pep in your step? This was one of those outfits for me. I went out on a mission to find the perfect look for my 32nd birthday (ugh I’m old), something fun, yet still sort of age appropriate and after scouring most stores are the mall found everything I was looking for at Free People. For some reason that store just gets me, it’s relaxed boho/hippie vibe resonates with me. So I am sure you have noticed that the lace up trend is definitely a thing. I must admit, I was a little hesitant of trying it out when it first appeared but I had a change of heart after a recent visit to Free People. I spotted this blue print top and even though the plunging neckline made me a bit nervous I decided to give a try anyway. After I found the right bra to go along with it, I felt much more comfortable with the deep V. I paired it up with a patch-work suede skirt and I had a match made in birthday heaven. Which […]

Yup thats right, it’s already shoulder season over here. Temperatures are warming up fast and the sun is showing face which means I can pull out the cut off denim shorts and all the shoulder bearing tops from that storage bin under my bed. I love a good off the shoulder top because it’s quite effortlessly cute and even sexy with just a little extra skin bearing. I brought this piece with me to Ojai Valley Inn & Spa where my husband and I enjoyed a relaxing mini vacation. We worked out, lounged by the pool, had a picnic outside, watched the pink sunset over the mountains and just enjoyed each other’s company. Can’t get better than that. You can tell from the coloring and brightness in my photos, that we captured these pictures both as the sun was out as well as when it was beginning to set creating the most magnificent color scheme in the sky. It was breathtaking and the photo below really captured the essence of the resort’s beauty and tranquility. I can’t wait to share more of our Ojai trip with you guys next week! Wearing – Top (SheIn – unf. already sold out but I linked […]

What do I love about fall? I could bore you with a long list of reasons why fall rules but big chunky sweaters are probably right up there with my mom’s homemade pecan pie. I wear them with pretty much anything I can get my hands on when the temperatures start to drop. Boyfriend jeans, skinny jeans, flares, leather, etc. A great sweater will go with pretty much anything you wear it with. I have stacks and stacks of wooly sweaters that I have collected over the years but I can’t seem to stop myself from adding to my collection when fall rolls around. Sweaters used to all look the same to me, some with crew necks, others with v necks and then there were sweaters with turtlenecks. All classics that I own and love but this year I decided to spice things up and add some with isometrical hemlines, tassels on the hem and cropped cable knits that can be layered over button up shirts. Most of the looks that I create with them tend to be simple yet chic and effortless looking. Sure, dressing up in fancy dresses can be fun for special occasions but for normal day to day […]

I may not be headed back to school but I’m feeling the whole back to school style. From plaid and flannel shirts to backpacks and new kicks. Not only are the kids back in school, but football has made its arrival, the weather is getting a bit cooler and the local coffee stores have already brought out their seasonal fall drinks. Like many others, this time of year is my favorite time of year. The list of reasons why Fall makes me so happy could have a dedicated blog post, but let’s focus on one of the most important ones… Fall Fashion! As corny as it may sound, I feel as giddy as a little school girl seeing the latest fall trends in magazines, stores and runways. How can I recreate the look? What pieces do I need to buy? What can I pull out of my closet? This Fall will be my first here in LA. I doubt I will be making any down jacket or snow boot purchases in the near future, but some new suede kitten heels is a good start to the new season! I’m crushing over my latest find from Sole Society. These suede kitten heels are the perfect color and […]
