On our 7 week long van road trip across the country, we stopped at a bucket list location of mine in Utah called Amangiri. I’ve been eyeing this resort for years and when Casey told me our route through Utah (which put us miles from the resort) I figured it was destiny. Casey hadn’t heard of Amangiri so he had no idea what he was getting into and literally fell off his chair when I told him how much one night would cost us. I only convinced him because I told him it would be my treat and booked for one night because it was soo darn expensive. I figured that since we were living in a van for 7 weeks, one night in a lux hotel would be a-ok. The price tag is steep, and I was pretty uncomfortable booking at $2000 per night but I pulled the trigger anyway bc yolo and hoped and prayed that the experience would be worth the dollar signs. I had lots of questions from you guys while we were staying at Amangiri so I thought I’d break it all down for you here in hopes to help you make your decision if […]

The Wildest Street Style Of Paris Fashion Week SS18 Attending Paris Fashion Week has always been on my bucket list. The runway shows, the street style, the magical Parisian nights and the baguettes always looked so dreamy as I watched from others perspectives. Attending myself always seemed like a far fetched dream. But somehow, the stars were in perfect alignment when my husband brought up the idea of celebrating our anniversary in Paris this year (which also happened to be during Paris Fashion Week). So of course, I did all I could to work my connections to attend anything and everything Paris Fashion Week. After getting multiple rejection emails from some of the big brands (it was worth a shot!), I focused my efforts on up and coming designers. I had a little luck getting my intern Ashley (she is studying abroad in Paris this semester) and I into some smaller shows and events which we were super grateful to attend. We saw some pretty interesting things on and off the runway during the two days that we took on Paris Fashion Week. But my favorite of all was what we spotted outside of the Rick Owens show, OMG the people […]

Many people saw the #badasslands hashtag pop up in their social media newsfeed last week but even though the #badlands have legions of new admirers, quite a few of them still have no idea where they actually are. The hashtag may have started over the climate change controversy but hopefully it will encourage millions of people to make the trek out to soak in the extreme and magical natural wonder that is Badlands National Park. A long time favorite place for musicians, writers, and artists to explore mind altering experiences and connect with the natural world given its topography and location, miles away from light pollution. Visitor experience can be so out of this world that the Badlands often play other planets on TV, most famously portraying the bug planet in the 90’s cult classic “Starship Troopers”. Located only 30 miles from my husband’s family ranch Badlands National Park and the surrounding Buffalo Gap Grasslands have become a favorite place to visit on trips home to see the family and always a highlight for our visitors and guests. You probably have seen the photos of Badlands National Park but no matter how high the resolution no camera can fully capture the magic energy of […]

A few weeks ago, Casey and I headed up to Woodstock, Vermont to attend our friends wedding over 4th of July weekend. I had been to Vermont as a young kid to ski at Sugar Bush but that had to be over 20 years ago (wow I’m old). We had nothing on our schedule other than to stay at the resort that the couple reserved a hotel block, attend the wedding and to watch fire works somewhere. I had no idea I would fall so hard for this little town and now I completely understand why our friends chose this location to tie the knot. It doesn’t get much cuter than Woodstock, Vermont. Woodstock Inn and Resort A friend’s wedding took us to Woodstock, Vermont and lucky for us the hotel block was at The Woodstock Inn and Resort. We were absolutely blown away with he beauty of this Inn and Spa. Everything was top notch, including the service, food, spa and amenities. My favorite part of our room was the wood burning fire place that came in hand on the cool Vermont nights. We hit the spa for massages, checked out the pool and took their bicycles for a […]
