Falling for South Moon Under

There are times when living and working in the big city can really wear a girl down. Sometimes you just have to get in your car, roll down the windows and head somewhere where the air is clean, the sky is big and the only traffic is a herd of cows crossing the road. For me, that place is my hometown of Warrenton, VA, a charming little town about 45 minutes (and a millions miles) west of D.C. Driving down the winding country roads is my stress relief. As the city fades in my rearview mirror, a sense of relaxation that can’t be found at the fanciest spa or yoga retreat washes over me. Warrenton is part of my heart and I am so blessed to have spent my formative years in such a beautiful part of our country. When I think of fall, I think of gold and auburn foliage, horses, wineries and, of course, plaid. A Trip to the Local Farmer’s Market

Every chance I get, I try to make a trip to the local farmer’s market on Sundays. I can’t think of a better way to start any day than walking the market tents and scoping out the produce, all while supporting small businesses and local farmers. My hubby and I really enjoy cooking together. It’s a creative outlet for us and sometimes it is the only bonding time we have with our crazy work schedules. During our visits to the farmer’s market, we find inspiration for planning our next meal while perusing all the local fruits and veggies that they have to choose from. That night we made zucchini spaghetti with fresh, homemade tomato sauce. So tasty! If you want to try out our sauce recipe you can find it here! A Night at The Arlington County Fair

Martasand A Night At The Arlington County Fair Funnel cakes, cotton candy and sugary lemonade are just a few reasons why we look forward to the county fair each year. It’s a time where we can throw our inhibitions out the window and indulge in all of the gluttony surrounding us. Living in walking distance of the Arlington County Fair makes it almost a cardinal sin not to visit the local staple on an annual basis. We started off with a fresh squeezed lemonade from the vintage-esque stand, it gave us just the sugar rush we were looking for and we were off to test the rides and games. Grand Opening of Xtend Barre Old Town

We are so excited to announce the Grand Opening of Xtend Barre Old Town this Saturday June 14th! As you guys have seen from our previous posts we absolutely love Xtend Barre and knowing the fabulous owner, Natalie Strahorn, makes all this even more exciting! We are so proud of her and all her accomplishments that she has worked so hard for. This is something you won’t want to miss, promise. If you can’t make the grand opening be sure to check out the client specials at the bottom of the page to check out her chic new studio right in the heart of Old Town Alexandria and get toned up for the Summer! They are going to have three classes that day with the first starting at 8:30am followed by an Open House from 12:30-2pm for people to mingle and check out the studio. So many amazing companies are supporting their opening event including Whole Foods, Yogurtini, Barre protein bars and South Block Cafe!
