Bikini Friendly Protein Cookies

After a little trial and error, I came up with a delicious (and healthy) protein cookie recipe that is totally bikini friendly.  With summer just a few weeks away and many beach trips in my near future, I have been experimenting with healthy recipes that will keep me satisfied and kick my sweet tooth cravings to the curb.  And with this recipe I think I may have come up with the perfect post workout snack..

A Little About Source Organic Whey:

Where your food comes from is important, and what goes into making the purest whey protein available is just as important as what does not. Source Organic Whey Protein starts with the finest raw ingredients and does as little to them as possible.

They start by working with farmers who believe in the welfare and humane treatment of their animals. Their farmers’ cows are a heritage breed called Jersey cows. These cows graze year-round on fresh pasture of clover, rye, and other native grasses.

The milk they produce is naturally high in conjugated linoleic acid (CLA’s), lactoferrin and immunoglobulins. Their USDA Organic Certification is their guarantee to you that the cows have never been given hormones, antibiotics, steroids, or genetically modified feed (GMO).

Each bag is hand packed under the direction of a certified organic processor. The packaging is done in an environmentally conscious facility. Once packed, the bags are shipped directly to you.

The Instructions:

If you are looking for soft and moist cookies, you will want to pre-cook your oats.  If you are looking for a crunchier/chewier texture to your cookies do not pre-cook and mix your oats in  raw.  If you do choose to pre-cook your oats, follow the instructions on your container.  Let them cool and strain any excess liquid off.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.  Peel the 2 bananas and mash them with the back of your fork until tender and smooth. Mix in your cup of cooked or un-cooked oats (depending on desired texture), peanut butter, agave nectar, chocolate shavings and protein powder. Stir until evenly mixed.  Spray your baking sheet with a non-stick mist to avoid your cookies sticking to your pan.  Use a large spoon and scoop 6 large scoops onto your pan evenly spaced and pat down to flatten cookie.  Shave extra chocolate on top of your cookies as a garnish if you choose.  Bake cookies for 15-20 minutes or until done. Check with a tooth pick to make sure cookies are cooked all the way through.  Let cool for a few minutes and enjoy! These are perfect for breakfast on the go or a post workout snack.
