52 Thursday’s 5 Favorite Things

We have been introduced and now officially hooked on some amazing new designers, products and artists this summer. We wanted to share some of our top favorites, in case one may become yours too!

1. Zella Woods Jewelryinitial_heartNKLC

We are absolutely loving everything about up-and-coming jewelry designer, Zella Woods.  Ashley Henderson, the designer behind Zella Woods, makes personal and custom pieces that are perfect as a gift to a friend, new mother, or even to treat yourself! You can tell she puts her heart and soul into her work and it really shows in each piece of jewelry she crafts. She has a wide variety of pieces to choose from (she even does bridal jewelry!) and all within an affordable price range. We also love that she paired up with Agape Attire to collaborate on some pretty amazing cuff bracelets.

“The motivation behind Zella Woods Designs is to make jewelry that people treasure like memories, pieces that speak to the individual rather than the masses.” -Zella Woods

2. Finding Mr. Righteous by Lisa DePasquale

Finding Mr. Righteous is the perfect beach read! Author, Lisa DePasquale, writes about her trials and tribulations of dating men from various religious backgrounds while living and working in the Nations Capital. She is brutally honest about her dating life, lets down her guard, shows her insecurities and even finds religion amongst it all. The book is a quick and fun read that many of us can relate to. Highly recommend packing this book along on your next trip!

3. Rose’s Luxury

Rose’s Luxury is hands down one of our favorite new DC restaurants. It is a quirky and exciting dining experience that is sure not to disappoint, with a menu full of small dishes to share as well as family style meals. Some of our current favorites include the lychee salad, strawberry pasta, gnocchi, brisket, and the foie gras french toast dessert is to DIE FOR.

The decor is as delightful as each dish they serve, the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting yet hip and luxurious. The staff is extremely knowledgable about the menu and is engaged with you during the entire dining experience. Rose’s also has a bit of exclusivity to it since they do not take reservations. Our tip is to show up when they open (or before) at 5:30pm and wait in the line to get your seating time. Do not shy away from the long line, we promise it will be well worth the wait!

4. Lana Del Rey’s Album “Ultraviolence”

We seriously love this new album which was released last month on June 13th. It debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 selling 182,000 copies, becoming Del Rey’s first number-one album on the chart and the best-selling debut week of her career! Some of our favorites from the album include West CoastBrooklyn Baby and of course Ultraviolence.

Lana Del Rey does a fantastic job climbing her way to the top with out heavily promoting herself like almost every other American singer/ songwriter out there. We love her care free attitude and beautiful, effortless vocals that embody the genre “dream pop”. This album is easy going for the Summer time and can be very relaxing and mystical after a long day of work, relying on sonic textures as much as the melody. A great buy for any mood you may be in.

5. Exofab Phone Cases

We are completely obsessed with these new phone guards by Exofab! Watch this video and you will be too! The best thing about the thin gel case is that it not only protects your phone but also sticks to glass, so that you can take the first ever hands-free selfie! Buy your own case online here or head to Nordstrom on Saturday to pick yours up at their Anniversary Sale.

xoxo
