Are you one to have your Halloween Costume planned out 6 months in advance or that guy, scrambling around the morning of pulling something together out of your own closet then picking up cat ears at your local party city?
Whichever Halloween fashionista lover you may be, we wanted to help and share our own Halloween Costume ideas for 2014. Each of us put together costume picks and inspiration boards to inspire you this Halloween!

Turtle Backpack, Nail Polish: Essie, Nunchucks , Socks (similar), Dogatello Costume, Sexy Donatello Costume (not pictured)
Most people that know me well, know that dressing up in costume is hands down one of my favorite things. I have even gone so far as to request my husband to throw me themed birthday parties, so that I can ensure costumes will be involved. I mean how epic were my Clueless Party and the Thift Shop Party?? Clearly you can tell I take dressing up very seriously but for some reason this year I was drawing a huge blank when thinking of Halloween costume ideas. After wracking my brain for unique costumes and googling countless images for inspiration, I landed on this photo of the ninja turtle back-pack. At that moment I knew I had been destined to find this photo, to buy this backpack and to become Donatello. Now if only I can force the rest of my family into joining the Ninja turtle gang..
Dress: Betsey Johnson; Necklace: Henri Bendel; Liquid Eyeliner: Stila High Shine; Lipstick: MAC; Pencil Eyeliner: Urban Decay; Eyeshadow: Sephora Collection; Nail Polish: Butter LONDON
I’m really picky about my Halloween costumes. If I can’t think of something creative and unique, you probably just won’t see me out that night. This year I think I nailed it! I stumbled upon a few Lichtenstein Pop Art Comic Book Costumes and put together my own inspiration board. I have always been a fan for art, specifically pop art and the rebellious movement that took motion in the 60’s. I love the bold colors and creativity that can be built out on this idea.
It’s a great, creative and pocket friendly costume that any one can pull off. Perfect for couples as well!
Natasha’s Costume Pick
Cat Bag: Etsy , Pleated Skirt: Alice + Olivia , Thermal Shirt: Masquerade, Skull Socks, Bag: Dolce and Gabbana, Leather Pump: Frye
For those of us who like to use current events for Halloween inspiration, I chose Taylor Swift. Am I the only one who thinks it’s a teeny-tiny bit bizarre that she likes to take her cat, Olivia Benson (named for Mariska Hargitay’s Law & Order SVU character) with her all around town? I don’t even drag my puppy to the grocery store, but Taylor isn’t shy about shopping, brunching and running errands with Olivia. At least she’s in a cute outfit… I mean Taylor. Olivia is au Naturel, natch.
This is a super easy outfit to put together out of your own closet. Instead of corralling your own kitty (who’s probably not as passive as Olivia and might leave fur in the party punch) as a prop, why not carry a cute cat tote for treats and mix in some Halloween knee socks for the night? Voila!
So what are you guys going as for Halloween? Did any of our boards help inspire you this year? We would love to hear from you!
Happy Halloween!
xoxo
