Packing for New York Fashion Week is no joke, especially in mid February. It’s a battle of what will be super chic, fit in your suitcase and will also keep you warm in 1 degree weather. I tried my best to look put together most of the time I was there but I’m not going to lie, by the end of the week I was bundled in a comfy sweater and my poofy down parka. But beyond the cold weather, it is still a struggle to decide what to bring to one of the most fashionable events in all of the world. It’s a lot of pressure! Luckily I discovered a secret weapon to keep my outfits looking fresh, on trend and all at an affordable price.

My little secret is that I usually borrow…yes borrow a purse to take to Fashion Week. I discovered Bag Borrow or Steal about a year ago and have been absolutely hooked ever since. You can rent any luxury handbag off of their site for a month at a time, with no commitment. It is seriously perfect for an event like Fashion Week, a wedding, or a fun vacation where you want to switch it up. You can also purchase or sell pre-owned luxury bags on their site as well. It is kind of like Rent The Runway but dedicated to luxury handbags instead. Genius, right?

Last Fashion Week I borrowed the red YSL Sac Du Jour and this season I chose to bring the Chloe Drew shoulder bag and I think I have fallen in love, I don’t want to return it! My sister, Laura, borrowed the Christian Louboutin Leather Marquise Clutch, which was a total conversation piece and would have also doubled as a weapon if need be.

I love this service because you are able to try out a luxury bag for a month to see if you love it before you make the commitment to drop the big money. So next time you want to give a bag a test drive before you buy or you just want a fun bag for a weekend getaway, you have to check out Bag Borrow or Steal. I promise you will become as hooked as I have!

xoxo
