Summery Snack Ideas For The Perfect Day On The Water
Nothing says summer like a day out on the boat with your family and friends. Since moving to the water, we have been soaking as much sun and boat time in as we can. There are so many fun spots in the city that we can get to by boat on the Potomac and we have been having a blast exploring them all.
Besides the company, the second most important thing to pack along on your boat trip is booze and snacks. Nothing is worse than being out on the water without food or drink. Since we’ve been out on the boat pretty much every weekend this summer, we’ve had a little practice packing the cooler.
Whether you are headed out on your boat, a friends boat or are just hanging by the pool this summer, these snacks are perfectly portable, refreshing and a great addition to your outdoor adventure. Make things super simple by ordering all ingredients listed in the post on Peapod and have them delivered to your doorstep the day before. No more running around like crazy when trying to entertain. So sit back and relax and enjoy your company! Use code 52Thursdays20 for $20 off your first order over $60 on Peapod.com.
Turkey + Boursin Sliders
-6 mini slider buns
-1 Box of Boursin Cheese Spread
-12 slices of Sliced Turkey Meat
Cut your buns in half and spread the Boursin on the top of the bun. Place two pieces of the turkey on the bottom bun, lettuce, and sun-dried tomato on top. Place the top bun on top and put a toothpick in the center of the sandwich to help keep them together! We love packing these sandwiches along because they are portable and small enough to eat in a few bites. Perfect for boating!

Watermelon Feta Basil Salad – Serves 6-8

-Salt & Pepper to taste
Directions:
Cube watermelon and place in a large bowl. Mix up the olive oil, balsamic, lime, salt and pepper together with a whisk. Pour over the watermelon. Add the feta cheese and stir. Add mint and give one last toss.
This is my go-to salad when bringing a side dish to a friends house during the summer. It’s always a huge hit! Though this would be a great side dish on the boat as well because it’s so refreshing and has a hint of sweet and salty.
